NightLink buses double

TransLink will double the number of Brisbane’s NightLink services running over the Christmas period from this weekend

December 2, 2011

Queensland’s TransLink is doubling the number of late night NightLink bus services from Fortitude Valley and Brisbane’s CBD from this weekend across the Christmas period.

TransLink Acting CEO Matt Longland says NightLink buses would run every 30 minutes from tonight until Christmas Eve from Brisbane’s two major entertainment precincts.

“Christmas is a busy time of the year with people getting out and celebrating later than they normally would and NightLink buses are a safe, reliable and affordable way to get home,” Longland says.

“NightLink buses will be more convenient than ever with more than 144 nightly buses running across 16 routes, departing between 1am and 5.30am on Friday and Saturday nights.”

Longland says extra NightLink buses are ideal for those planning to do their late night Christmas shopping during the extended shopping hours in the Brisbane CBD on December 23.

Brisbane CBD NightLink buses depart from Eagle Street, near Jade Buddha, and George Street, near the Treasury Casino.

Route N199 buses depart from Adelaide Street, near City Hall.
