Transit Australia Group’s enterprise bargaining
negotiations with Sunbus’ Townsville drivers appears to be nearing resolution.

TAG General Manager Megan Harkin says the majority of Sunbus employees now support the agreement after votes were cast through an Australian Electoral Commission ballot.

TAG is currently lodging the Sunbus Townsville Enterprise Agreement with Fair Work Australia for approval.

“The Townsville community will be spared further uncertainty and Sunbus can focus on delivering quality public transport services,” Harkin says.

“Transit Australia Group and Sunbus management would like to thank the community for their patience during the past 11 months, where industrial action has affected the lives and livelihoods of both passengers and Sunbus employees,” she says.

Harkin says all parties have agreed not to disclose details of the agreement at this stage.
