Comfort Delgro Cabcharge (CDC) was handed its 500th Volgren-built bus this week, reaching a milestone from a starting point six years ago.

This particular Volgren low floor on a Volvo B7RLE chassis was built at the Hunter region’s Tomago factory near Newcastle which opened in March 2010.

Volgren Managing Director Peter Dale says that without CDC’s support it would have been difficult for Volgren to build the factory at Tomago.

"Our relationship with CDC has been very strong since we built our first bus for them six years ago," Dale says.

CDC’s Chief Executive Officer Jim Glasson says he was delighted to accept the 44-seat 12.5-metre low floor bus which would run in the Hunter region.

‘I’m delighted to accept this bus and endorse the strong relationship we have with Volgren," Glasson says.

"It is also a pleasure to see this NSW-built bus will transport NSW customers."

CDC runs a fleet of more than 1,100 buses in greater Sydney and the Hunter region, and over 330 buses in Victoria.
