Veolia Transdev has purchased of Caringbah Bus Service from existing owners, the Wood family, taking over routes and school services from Saturday October 1.

Caringbah Bus Service has been operated by the Wood family since the early 1940s, originating with services in the Royal National Park based at Loftus and then moving on to regular route service around the Caringbah area.

Caringbah Bus Service now operates two routes, has a fleet of nine buses and nine staff, all of which will continue with Veolia Transdev.

Veolia Transdev claims to have strong experience and knowledge of the local Sutherland area, operating 19 routes in this area with another 42 routes across Sydney’s South West.

Veolia Transdev currently has seven depots, 450 buses and over 790 staff in the south and south-west areas of Sydney.

Veolia Transdev NSW Managing Director Morris Caputi says he’s excited about bringing the Caringbah Bus Service team into the Veolia Transdev group.

“We will ensure the transition is smooth for both the employees and customers,” he says.

“At Veolia Transdev we have a long history of serving the Shire with pride and will continue to do so with the addition of these services.”

The Wood family will continue to manage and operate the coach charter side of their business ‘Tiger Tours Management Pty Ltd’.
