A new state-run bus service will start in May from Mandurah linking with a nearby Baptist college south of Perth

The Western Australian Government will introduce a dedicated school special bus service from Mandurah Station to Austin Cove Baptist College (ACBC) in South Yunderup from the start of term two in May.
Transport Minister Troy Buswell says he had approved the service in response to requests from the community.
“Since ACBC opened its doors earlier this year, many families whose children attend the school have contacted the Public Transport Authority as well as my office to request a bus service to the school,” Buswell says.
“As a result of this demand, the state Government has decided to fund an additional morning and afternoon service on a number of public routes into and out of Mandurah and three buses running between Mandurah Station and ACBC.”
He says ACBC students will use regular timetabled Transperth services to travel to Mandurah Station to connect with the services to school.
“Some of the existing timetabled services that ACBC students are likely to use to get to the Mandurah Station are either close to or at capacity, so we are investing in additional connecting services to ensure sufficient capacity across the network.”
Each weekday, services to ACBC will depart from Mandurah Station at approximately 7.50am.
Return trips from the school will be scheduled to depart approximately
10 minutes after school finishes.
Students using a SmartRider to access the new school services will be required to pay the 50 cent concession fare.
