Diesel prices increased by an average of 1.4 cents per litre for the week ending February 12 – the first rise after three weeks of declining prices
Terminal gate pricing data from the Australian Institute of Petroleum shows prices in all states hovering around 114 to 115 cents a litre during the week.
Diesel in Melbourne was the cheapest, averaging 114.3 cents per litre. Brisbane and Sydney averaged 114.5 and 114.7 cents per litre respectively.
The prices were marginally cheaper than Adelaide, which averaged 114.8 cents a litre.
Darwin was the most expensive region, averaging 119.2 cents.
The figure was 3.8 cents higher than Perth, which finished as the second most expensive city for the week at 11.5 cents per litre.
