The 2010 BusNSW Management Seminar will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley on April 16 and 17.

The seminar theme is ‘Time for Action’, reflecting the need for industry and government to meet the challenges to grow public transport a year out from the NSW state election.

Commencing with a welcome party on the Friday evening, Saturday’s seminar program will feature an address by NSW Transport Minister David Campbell.

BusNSW Executive Director Darryl Mellish will then deliver his presentation entitled ‘Transport and Politics – Time for Action’.

Other topics to be presented during the day include:

  • ’A New World – Meeting Benchmarks to Stay in Business’ (contract renewal)
  • Measuring and evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Financing a bus or coach – understanding the market.

Lunch will comprise a sumptuous buffet at Red Salt Restaurant. After lunch delegates will be entertained by John Lees, an original, highly motivational and humorous guest speaker.

The seminar will finish with an entertaining and interactive session looking at ‘The New Industrial Scene – What You Need to Know’. Current industrial issues will be discussed with delegates given an opportunity to question panel members from the floor.

Following the seminar delegates can enjoy the traditional ‘happy hour’, which will take place in the Grapevine Bar from 4:45pm to 5:45pm.

The seminar dinner on Saturday, April 17 will have a ‘70s theme and feature vocal duo, The Robertson Brothers, performing its ‘Sharing the Night ‘70s Show’.

The 2010 BusNSW Management Seminar will incorporate the 2010 BusNSW Golf Day on Friday, April 16, at the Hunter Valley Golf and Country Club (part of the Crowne Plaza Resort).

Organisers say the seminar will provide an ideal opportunity for delegates to gain a better understanding of current reforms and issues impacting on the bus and coach industry.
