Wholesale diesel prices up by 1.7 cents/litre

Diesel prices were up around the country by an average of 1.7 cents per litre for the week ended August

Diesel prices were up around the country by an average of 1.7 cents per litre for the week ended August 17.

Terminal gate pricing data from the Australian Institute of Petroleum shows prices rose in allthe capital cities, hovering around the 116.7 cents per litre mark throughout the week, except for Darwin.

Melbourne and Brisbane in line with recent trends had the cheapest diesel throughout the week at an average price of 115.5 and 115.7 cents per litre respectively.

Diesel in Sydney and Adelaide was slightly more expensive, finishing the week with averages of 115.8 in the Harbour City and 116.1 in the South Australian capital.

As usual Darwin topped the list with an average diesel price of 120.5 cents per litre, 3.9 cents higher than Perth which finished as the second most expensive city at 116.6 cents a litre, up 1.7 cents on the previous week.
