QBICs Tape commended in T&L leader awards

Queensland bus council chief David Tape has been recognised for his contribution to the transport and logistics industry at state awards announced last night.

Tape, the Executive Director of the Queensland Bus Industry Council (QBIC), was a finalist in the ‘Experience Pays’ category (under 10 years) of the T&L Industry Development Awards, designed to provide incentive and recognition for mature-age individuals in transport, supply chain and logistics.

The award was won by Bill Potter, the National Learning and Development Manager at NQX Freight System, who has led a successful human resources campaign in the Toll division.

Peter Thompson, the Queensland Manager at logistics provider Kagan, won the award for those who have been in the industry for more than 10 years.

The awards are presented by the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia, in conjunction with the Australian Logistics Council, APICS, CIPSA, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Strategix Training Group.

Winners were announced at the annual dinner of the Queensland Supply Chain Conference at the Sofitel Hotel in Brisbane.
