Woman killed in Beerwah bus accident

A 45-year-old woman was killed after a privately-hired bus struck her on a service road in Beerwah, Queensland, early yesterday

A 45-year-old woman was killed after a privately-hired bus struck her on a service road in Beerwah, Queensland, early yesterday morning (Sunday, July 12).

The driver is being questioned by police after she dropped the woman home around midnight following a 40th birthday event in Beerwah.

Initial inquiries suggest the driver dropped the woman near her driveway and reversed back to do a u-turn when she was struck.

The woman’s husband found her body in a neighbour’s driveway at around 12.30am.

Police say the driver and other occupants of the bus felt a slight bump but believed it was the edge of the driveway.

Police say the driver did not appear to be negligent.
