Volgren Australia has built its 750th bus at its Malaga plant in Western Australia.

The bus was recently unveiled at a ceremony in Perth attended by the WA Minister for Transport and Disability Services The Honourable Simon O’Brien, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Transport Authority Reece Waldock, and Chairman of the National Transport Commission Greg Martin.

“This is a special milestone for Volgren,” says Volgren Australia Managing Director Peter Dale.

“We have been building busses for a decade in Perth, which has generated more than 70 full-time jobs at Volgren and at least another 100 jobs in the local businesses supplying the factory.

“Working in partnership with the WA Government has been extremely successful, delivering our high-quality busses on schedule for use by TransPerth and the PTA.”

Dale singled out the importance of the Volgren team.

“I would like to say how proud I am of all of you. This ceremony is very much about recognising you and your wonderful achievements, doing it the Volgren Way.”

Volgren is Australia’s largest family owned body-building company.
