Next step in electronic ticketing system for NSW

NSW Minister for Transport David Campbell has released details of respondents that have expressed interest in the new electronic ticketing

NSW Minister for Transport David Campbell has released details of respondents that have expressed interest in the new electronic ticketing system.

The Public Transport Ticketing Corporation issued expression of interest documentation for the system in August and 15 submissions were received from domestic and international entities, including:

  • ACS Transport Solutions Inc – United States
  • Citigroup Consortium – Australia
  • D&R Technology Consortium – Australia
  • e-Pay Australia – Australia
  • Glide Consortium – Australia
  • Hampstead Consulting – Australia
  • Indra Sistemas, SA Consortium – Spain
  • Pearl Consortium – Australia
  • Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH – Germany
  • Shanghai Huateng Software Consortium – China
  • Snapper Consortium – New Zealand
  • Sony Corporation – Japan
  • Telvent Australia – Australia
  • Wave Team – Australia
  • Zheng Guang Australia Consortium – Australia.

Campbell says these responses will now be evaluated and Public Transport Ticketing Corporation will prepare a list of qualified entities for the next stage of the procurement process – the ‘request for proposal’.

The new system will operate on the CityRail network, metropolitan and outer-metropolitan public and private bus services, and Sydney Ferries.
