Queensland school bus day

All Queensland school bus operators are invited to a Queensland School Bus Association (QSBA) "hot topics" conference to be held

All Queensland school bus operators are invited to a Queensland School Bus Association (QSBA) “hot topics” conference to be held in Brisbane on Friday, October 3, 2008 (the last Friday of the Queensland school holidays).

QSBA CEO Lorraine Douglas-Smith says it is time to put the focus firmly onto school buses.

“QSBA has not only planned a day to provide operators with what they need to know, but also an opportunity to have their voices heard,” she says.

The one day program will concentrate on funding, contracts and compliance and the daily problems encountered by operators on their services.

Queensland Transport staff will be on hand for presentations, which will be followed with an open forum session.

“Plain speaking will be the flavour of the day, and I would encourage operators to come along and get involved,” Douglas-Smith continues.

On a practical side, there will be a suppliers’ session included to present operators with a clear idea of the current market and availability and how products will fit with future developments in the Queensland school bus industry.

It promises to be a worthwhile day and school bus operators should put their concerns on the table and come along. An optional three course dinner will be held to finish off the conference.

Operators should contact the QSBA Secretariat for more information and registration details. Suppliers interested in participating are also invited to contact Lorraine Douglas-Smith.
