Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged road rage incident involving a bus and a van in The Rocks

Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged road rage incident involving a bus and a van in The Rocks area of Sydney last night.

According to NSW police, at about 5:50pm a bus was travelling north along George Street when he heard a loud noise, the bus driver stopped his vehicle north of Argyle Street and to check for damage.

The bus driver reportedly retreated back into the bus after two men, armed with a pole, ran towards him.

Police allege one of the two men entered the bus and made threats towards the bus driver before smashing the glass doors and windows of the bus with the pole.

The two men then returned to their 1999 Ford Transit Van and left the scene. The vehicle was last seen heading north along George Street.

The first man is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, between 19 and 21 years old, with a solid build and shaved hair. He was wearing a white shirt at the time of the incident.

The second man is described as being of white/European in appearance, aged in his 20’s and of medium build. He was wearing a light coloured top at the time of the incident.

Investigators would like anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who have details about the two men described to contact The Rocks Police Station 8220 6399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

In particular, police would like to speak with the two passengers who were travelling within the bus at the time of the incident.
