Passengers might be the focus but at the BCA NSW 2008 Mangement Seminar the attendees will be getting the five-star treatment.

The BCA NSW 2008 Management Seminar is to be held at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach on Friday and Saturday September 26 and 27 this year.

The Novotel Wollongong Northbeach is perfectly positioned on the NSW South Coast and is an ideal venue for the Seminar.

This year’s theme is Serving the Passenger, reflecting the importance of identifying and meeting passengers’ future needs. The Management Seminar will commence with the Welcome Party in the Admirals Room on Friday September 26, between 6 and 8pm.

The conference program on Saturday will feature an industry report from BCA Executive Director Darryl Mellish and a keynote address from Employers First Chief Executive Garry Brack.

Members of the Coach Branch will outline new strategic goals for coach operators in NSW and the BCA will be launching its new customer facing brand "BusNSW".

Three prestigious NSW industry awards will be presented prior to lunch for the:
  • er of the year
  • ronmental/ innovative operator of the year
  • tanding industry contribution.


The Seminar lunch will comprise a sumptuous buffet at Windjammers Restaurant with its beach front location and glorious views over North Wollongong Beach and the Pacific Ocean.

After lunch you will witness the Great Debate where a select group of industry people will contest a topic dealing with public transport and the importance of the passenger.

The Seminar will finish with an interactive industry forum featuring representatives from the BCA, the Ministry of Transport and other key stakeholders.

Current bus reform and operational issues will be discussed with delegates given an opportunity to question panel members from the floor.

The Management Seminar will provide an ideal opportunity for delegates to network with operators, suppliers and the industry’s regulators, and to gain a better understanding of current reforms and issues.

The Seminar Dinner, which will begin with happy hour from 6 to 7pm, will be held at the City Beach Function Centre, a short distance from the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach.

The stylish and elegant City Beach Function Centre is located on the sensational sands of City Beach on Marine Drive, with absolute frontage of the Pacific Ocean.

A shuttle bus service will operate between the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach and the City Beach Function Centre (please check the Seminar program for details).
