It was an unlucky Friday the 13th for a 45-year-old bus driver driving with alcohol in his blood.

The legal blood level is 0.05 for the general public but zero for commercial drivers.

Police allege the bus driver was over the legal limit and will face a Brisbane court on a drink-driving charge.

He was stopped for a random breath test at Boondall on Brisbane's northside yesterday, when he recorded an alleged blood alcohol reading 0.034 percent.

A school child and three women were in the bus at the time and police say the bus company organised for a replacement driver to continue the journey.
