The Federal Minister for Transport ruled Euro 3 (ADR 80/00) vehicles that were granted until February 29 to be completed and enter service (rather than the assigned date of January 1, 2008) will not be subject to the requirements of ADR 83/00 (relating to vehicle noise) which was introduced on January 1, 2008.
This ruling will allow the previously mentioned vehicles to be manufactured to ADR 28/01 the relevant vehicle noise related to Euro 3 vehicles.
The BIC say the industry has worked with DOTARS and the Minister’s Office to have this oversight addressed.
“Our success is a strong sign that the Federal Government is listening to the bus industry,” say the BIC.
