Acting Assistant Commissioner Tom Tully says Traffic Services would adopt a high-profile, targeted approach to road safety in and around school zones for the start of the school year.

Tully reminds drivers the 40 km/h speed limit exists in school zones and around buses dropping off or picking up children.

"Drivers need to be aware that children’s actions can be quick and unpredictable," he says.

Tully says it is crucial every driver slows down and remains alert around school zones and in school car parks.
