Hazelwood Coaches open for sale

The Hazelwood Coaches owner is looking to sell the operation alongside Jaybee Tours

Small operator Hazelwood Coaches has announced it is a business for sale as it looks for interested parties to take over the company.

The sale also includes Traralgon-based Jaybee Tours in Victoria, which has been around for 40 years as a travel and charter operator.

Hazelwood Coaches was established in 2000 and is a small, locally owned and operated business focused on providing a safe, reliable and comfortable service.

Now, Hazelwood Coaches has put on its Facebook page that it’s looking for new owners to complete its general charter work.

The operator specialises in running regular general public day trips, as well as running concert trips and theatre shows in Melbourne alongside wedding guest transport and V/Line replacement bus work.

Extended tours are coming up in 2024, including the Tamworth country music festival and a Tasmania 10-day tour.

Following a $320,000 turnover in 2022/23, the company and sale includes a 1997 Austral Denning coach with a 350 hp engine with a seven-speed non-synchro box, 49 seat-belted seats and a toilet.

The motor has done only 120,000kms since full rebuild, with Hazelwood Coaches says the operation is ideal for a team.

The asking price is $50,000 due to the current owners retiring, with the operator having no competition in the Latrobe Valley.
