As Tropical Cyclone Alfred begins its approach towards South East Queensland and northern NSW, bus operators across the coast are preparing for the possible cancellation or change to services.
Greyhound Australia has released a statement announcing that at this stage, all scheduled Greyhound services will continue to operate.

As more updates filter through, the statement says Greyhound services may be subject to change or cancellation as safety is its top priority.
“We may be required to cancel services for the safety of our passengers, team, and general public,” the statement reads.
“All passengers booked to travel within South East Queensland and northern NSW are encouraged to monitor service updates and latest information on our website, greyhound.com.au.”
The bus operator understands that some passengers may not to travel within areas that may be impacted by Tropical Cyclone Alfred, so it is offering free of charge travel changes.
Passengers travelling on Greyhound services to or from the Sunshine Coast (including Noosa), Brisbane, or Gold Coast regions from Wednesday March 5 to Sunday March 9 inclusive can choose to move their travel to a new date (subject to availability) free of charge.

“Please be advised our Customer Service team is currently managing a high volume of calls and it may take longer than usual to connect with a team member,” Greyhound says.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
