Tasmania’s seniors are being urged to sign up to get a free Greencard and take advantage of free travel during Seniors Week next month.

Seniors are now able to get a free Greencard until October 7, and be able to travel free for a week from October 1.

The offer is part of an initiative to make sure all Seniors Card holders get the most out of the free travel offer.

Metro Chief Executive Officer Heather Haselgrove says all Seniors Card holders – whether they have a Greencard or not – will be able to travel free on all Metro buses on October 5 and 6.

“However, with a Greencard they will get free travel for the full Seniors Week period and, if they sign up now, they will also get a free Greencard,” she says.

“If you are a Seniors Card holder and don’t already have a Greencard, you need to get one before Seniors Week to be ready to travel free anywhere on a Metro bus for the whole week. “

Haselgrove says everybody can benefit from using a Greencard.

“Greencard holders save 20 per cent on fares, credit is secure and Greencards can be topped up on the bus, via the Metro website or at a Metro outlet or Greencard agent,” she says.

To get your Greencard and be ready to travel free during Seniors Week go to: https://greencard.metrotas.com.au/login, phone 13 22 01 or call into a Metro outlet.
