FMD and KRW Hydrogen launch vehicle range in New Zealand

Foton Mobility Distribution and KRW Hydron have announced a range of buses will be on sale in the New Zealand market

Foton Mobility Distribution and the newly launched KRW Motor Group have revealed they are expanding into the New Zealand market.

Having cemented its spot as a leading zero-emissions light duty truck provider in Australia over the past two years, Foton Mobility Distribution will now supply a suite of products ranging from electric and diesel buses to trucks and 49t hydrogen fuel-cell prime movers.

With the support of local partners in Coachwork Central, Heavy Vehicle & Machinery Solutions and East Coast Heavy Diesel, KRW Hydron NZ will market its DFAC range of diesel and electric trucks, as well as Foton’s buses and the Quantum H53 hydrogen fuel-cell truck.

The Quantum H53 hydrogen prime mover is on the government whitelist and ready for delivery now.

The DFAC light duty truck range is tailored to cater to last-mile deliveries, refrigerated freight, construction companies and local government, and utilises the latest technology Euro 6 Cummins diesel engine paired with Dana axles and fast 6 speed AMT transmissions in the 6t vehicle, and an 8 speed Fast AMT in the 9.5t range.

All DFAC trucks will have high levels of standard safety with lane departure warning, AEBS systems, pedestrian and cyclist detection and meet Cabin Strength Certification (ECE R29).

The Foton Bus range includes diesel coaches, and the Gen 5 EV and hydrogen city buses comply fully with RUB requirements.

KRW Hydron NZ will have a local team to look after all customers in NZ, with additional expert support from its local partners and backed by its experienced team in Australia.

CWC will provide all bus compliance and sales support services for coaches and school buses, while HVMS and ECHD will provide after sales support to all products distributed by KRW Hydron in New Zealand.

“HVMS is proud to have been appointed as KRW Hydron’s preferred after sales agent across the full range of vehicles for the New Zealand market,” Heavy Vehicle & Machinery Solutions’ Mark Irving says.

“We look forward to supporting Neil Wang and the KRW Hydron team by providing every customer with a premium level of servicing at all times. HVMS in conjunction with ECHD and selected industry partners will deliver service offerings in all major cities nationwide.”

KRW Motor Group founder Neil Wang says he has been selling vehicles into the NZ market for a long time.

“Now with the support from three major brands, we have a full product range to offer to our Kiwi customers,” he says.

“Our objective is to help our customers to be more competitive in their home market with the added certainty of quality after-sales support from our local partners.”
