These changes allowed weekend frequency on Route 235 City to Fishermans Bend (via Williamstown Road) boosted to operate every 20 minutes throughout the day, with services running from 6am to midnight on Saturdays, and 7am to midnight on Sundays.
On weekdays, services on routes 235 and Route 237 City to Fishermans Bend (via Lorimer Street) now run every 10 minutes on weekdays until 9pm, with services running until midnight.
Another 111 services were added to Route 606 earlier this year, with the route now runing about every 30 minutes on weekdays and for longer every day of the week, with patronage up over 30 per cent on weekdays and weekends.
“We recognise the important role public transport plays in the continued growth of Fishermans Bend and the lives of its residents, visitors and local workforce,” public and active transport minister Gabrielle Williams says.
“We’ve added almost 1,500 extra bus services a week to Fishermans Bend in recent years, better connecting Australia’s largest urban renewal project to the rest of the city.”
These network improvements are all part of Victoria’s Bus Plan which is improving the state’s bus network, making routes simpler, more efficient and better connected across Victoria.
“Having access to a frequent and reliable bus service seven days a week is making living and working in Fishermans Bend even more attractive and supporting the growth of this exciting area,” member for Albert Park Nina Taylor says.
