As the industry prepares for the 2026 edition of the Bus & Coach Expo, suppliers and manufacturers clearly aren’t slowing down when it comes to deliveries. The latest Australian bus and coach deliveries data, courtesy of ABC, recorded 152 units in June.
This is down by one from last month and is five behind the deliveries recorded in the same month last year, allowing the sector to continue flourishing through the middle part of 2026.

Once again the chassis sector saw Volvo dominate, with the European manufacturer taking home top honours with 57 deliveries in June. Fellow European brand Scania nestled into second with 35 units, with Yutong (13 heavy and three light bus deliveries) snatching third from BYD (15 units). Custom Denning came narrowly behind with 11 deliveries, MAN recorded six units and King Long (four) came in ahead of BCI (three), I-Bus (three light bus) and BLK (two).
Volgren’s bodybuilding dominance was on full display in June, nearly capturing half the market with 71 out of 158 deliveries being attributed to the brand. Yutong was a long way behind in second with 16 deliveries (13 heavy, three light), but did enough to hold off Irizar (14), Custom Denning (11) and BCI (10). Global Bus Ventures had six deliveries, while the final 24 deliveries were split between seven brands in an even finish.
Attributing for more than half the market is no easy feat, but that’s exactly what McConnell did in June as it claimed 84 of the 152 deliveries for the seating sector. StyleRide’s impressive renaissance continued with 39 deliveries, with Sege sitting in third with 14. The remaining market was split between Yutong (eight), King Long (four) and APM (three).
The air-conditioning market returned to its competitive ways, with Coachair winning a tense battle to claim June’s top honours with 38 deliveries. Thermo King and Hispacold shared second with 24 units. Cling-Yutong had the 16 deliveries, which was enough to see it past Valeo (15), while Spheros (13) and Denso (10) both settled with double digit deliveries. The final market saw King Long (four) come in ahead of I-Bus (three), Konvekta (three) and BCC (two).
New South Wales continued its state-based dominance, recording 62 June deliveries to easily account for the market. The next best was its northerly neighbour in Queensland (34), while Victoria (22) held off South Australia (20) in a close finish. Western Australia motored along with 13 June deliveries, while the ACT popped up with one.
The power source split swung back in the favour of diesel units in June, with only 56 out of the 152 units being zero-emissions vehicles. In this market, BYD led the way with 15 ahead of Custom Denning (11), Yutong (10), Volvo (10), Scania (nine) and BCI (one). The diesel side saw Volvo claim top spot with 47 deliveries ahead of Scania with its 25 diesel deliveries and sole hybrid model.
