Australia Wide Coaches has brokered a deal with Greyhound strengthening both companies’ regional NSW operations

Sydney coach operator Australia Wide Coaches has teamed up with Greyhound Australia on their regional NSW service to Orange.
Australia Wide Coaches Managing Director Richard Dawes says the partnership with Greyhound was a win-win situation for both companies.
“This route adds to the extensive Greyhound network of passenger and freight services and Australia Wide Coaches now have access to thousands of agents within Australia and overseas,” Mr Dawes says.
“We have also recently extended the daily service between Sydney and Orange to include Sydney’s domestic and international airports.
“Passengers can now join the coach in Orange and Bathurst and travel on the same coach directly to the airport.”
He says increased passenger numbers indicates a high level of support for the airport service.
“Our passengers also have easy access to an online reservations system 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can now connect with Greyhound services to and from Sydney.”
Greyhound Australia CEO Robert Thomas says the partnership was just in time for the internationally renowned V8 supercar event held in October at Bathurst, one of the major towns on the Sydney to Orange route.
“The annual Bathurst 1000 at Mt Panorama attracts thousands of local and international visitors and now Greyhound customers can take advantage of our extended network to get there,” Thomas says.
“The express route also includes Katoomba, the most visited town in the Blue Mountains and home to the Scenic Railway, the steepest railway incline in the world and one of the most popular man-made tourist attractions in Australia.”
He says Greyhound Australia is looking to forge partnerships in regional areas across Australia to provide customers with more travel options.
“As an established and successful Australian business, we are in a position to help regional operators grow their business by increasing their reach across our on-line customer base and booking service,” Thomas says.
“With ever increasing competition pressured on coach companies by decreasing airline prices, partnerships such as this are becoming more important to sustain a financially viable industry.”
