Another industry stalwart has left the building

Coach building industry veteran Geoff Ross has announced his retirement after 47 years at Custom Coaches and its predecessor companies.
Ross started his apprenticeship in 1966 as a panel beater for the Australian-based company Freighters, which became ABM and later bought by Custom in 2000.
While the ownership of various entities around him changed, Ross was a constant throughout his 47 year career in essentially the same enterprise.
Freighters became ABM which was bought by Custom in 2000, and with each change and acquisition came Geoff Ross across the 47 year span.
For the past five years Geoff has been Custom’s National Sales Manager, and prior to that spent 20 years as production manager and ten years as Custom Care manager at Custom SA.
Customs Sales and Marketing Director Steve Jackson lamented Ross’ retirement, saying he had been a fantastic asset to Custom and the bus and coach industry.
“Geoff is one of the most experienced bus people in the industry and he will be missed by all his customers and staff,” Jackson says.
“We wish Geoff and his wife Margaret all the best in their retirement.”
