Clarence Town gains dedicated school bus service

Local bus operator Shelton’s Bus Service is set to deliver a new and dedicated school bus service in Clarence Town

Transport for NSW has announced that it is delivering a new dedicated bus service for Clarence Town Public School from the start of Term One.

“This is a huge win for the Clarence Town Public School community,” NSW regional transport and road minister Jenny Aitchison says.

“We are delighted to be able to deliver this new service, which will provide safe transport for around 70 students to and from school every day.”

The new service will be delivered by family-owned operator Shelton’s Bus Service. Owner Guy Shelton says he’s delighted to be delivering this service.

“Shelton’s Bus Service has been providing services to the Dungog Shire for more than 85 years,” Shelton says.

“We look forward to working with Clarence Town Public School and Transport for NSW to provide an efficient, safe and reliable bus service.”

The service includes stops in Glen William and Glen Martin and the Boatfalls, Waterview and Riverdowns estates and will be labelled S444.

Upper Hunter spokesperson Emily Suvaal says the NSW government continues to prioritise bus services for regional areas of the state.

“Dungog Shire is a growing community, and this will benefit the current and future residents who do and will call this region home,” Suvaal says.
