Go Cards are checking in at south-east Queensland hotels to connect tourists to the region’s public transport network.
Queensland Transport Minister Scott Emerson says up to 15 Brisbane hotels would be taking part in an upcoming trial which will help make the Go Card more accessible to tourists visiting the region.
“Guests will soon be able to pick up a Go Card and transport visitor information packs from their hotel’s front-desk or reception,” Emerson says.
“Previously the Go Card has been sold at transport hubs, newsagents and retailers such as 7-Eleven/ From this week Go Cards will be available at major hotel chains.
“There are 12.3 million domestic and international tourists who visit south-east Queensland each year and now they will have greater access to incentives such as free travel after nine journeys.”
The Go Cards come with travel information and maps.
Brisbane hotels included in the initial trial include Rydges Southbank, Stamford Plaza, Novotel, Mercure, Ibis and Emporium Hotel Brisbane.
