CBM South Pacifics spare parts coming to Expo

CBM South Pacific will be introducing a range of spare bus and coach parts to this year's Australasian Bus & Coach Expo

CBM South Pacific may only have a small handful of workers in its Australian operations, but it will be showing plenty at this year’s Expo.

Area sales manager Paul Mansell says the spare parts and services provider for European vehicles will show the best of its Australian arm.

“We’re a French-based company but operate in around 60 different countries,” Mansell told ABC. “We supply spare- parts for European bus makes such as Mercedes-Benz, Scania, MAN, Iveco just to name a few.

“We do driveline, chassis, suspension, brakes, air-conditioning parts and other all-round spares.”

Operating out of Sydney, Mansell says the company is now establishing a warehouse in Melbourne, on top of its current Perth facility. Having only set up in Australia seven years ago, the small team provides parts to buses, coaches and trams.

At this year’s Expo, CBM South Pacific will have two booths side-by-side, where it will showcase a variety of spare parts and new service offers that cover many buses.

“We will bring in a variety of filters, some engine parts, suspension parts and other varieties,” Mansell says. “We cover pretty much everything on the bus, so we won’t bring too many specific parts.

“We will also bring some interesting products like electronic brake parts and filters so people understand what we specialise in.”

Despite CBM South Pacific’s global presence, its Australian branch is looking to increase its popularity at the Expo. Mansell admits his company has a lot of items that would make its catalogue look like a phone book.

Mansell says the Expo will be a terrific opportunity to network with potential customers and other industry members.

“There’s only two of us employees looking after all of Australia, so this time to catch up with people will be valuable,” Mansell says. “The Expo will be great for seeing management and regional clients and networking.

“We don’t have many new items to showcase, we’re just showing our parts and we hope visitors will see we’re a one-stop shop for spare bus parts.”
