Transport Canberra has released updated bus timetables, school information packs and network maps ahead of July service changes across the ACT bus network.
The improvements will begin from the start of school term 3 on Monday, July 20, 2026.
The July changes include the return of Rapid 2 and Rapid 3 services to their original routes serving West and North Belconnen.
Rapid 2 will again provide continuous services between Fraser and Fyshwick, while Rapid 3 will provide continuous services between Spence and Canberra Airport.
Transport Canberra says the changes follow extensive monitoring and analysis of road network conditions during the ongoing Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Renewal project.
The July package builds on earlier refinements introduced in April. It includes frequency increases on Rapid 4 and Rapid 5 to and from Canberra’s south, along with an increase in frequency on Rapid 6 to and from Woden.

Rapid 5 and Rapid 6 will also continue to run through to Belconnen, adding capacity to the network.
Some local and school services will also be refined to better match actual travel conditions and adjusted school bell times.
Improved services from July 20 include Rapid routes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, along with regular services 19, 26, 56, 63, 66 and 81.
School services affected include 1019, 1022, 1023, 1031, 1041, 1054, 2030, 2032, 2046, 2048, 2049, 2054, 2090 and 2093.
The school changes affect Alfred Deakin High School, Campbell Primary School, Campbell High School, Canberra Grammar, Canberra High School, Daramalan College, Emmaus Christian School, Marist College, Melrose High, Merici College, Mount Stromlo High School, St Francis Xavier College, St John the Apostle Primary School and St Thomas More’s Primary School.
Students, parents and carers are being encouraged to download school information packs and relevant timetables before term 3 begins.
All passengers are also being asked to review updated timetables before July 20 so they can understand their public transport options and plan journeys.
Transport Canberra says monitoring of the bus network will continue while Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Renewal works progress, with further improvements to be identified if needed.
During the works period, commuters are being encouraged to travel outside peak times where possible, allow extra time for trips or consider other ways to travel to the city.
