Major bus and electric vehicle manufacturer BYD Australia has become the new major partner of NRL club Sydney Roosters.
The five-year alliance is set to herald ‘a new energy’ for both brands, with the major partnership to feature prominently across the Roosters’ NRL and NRLW teams as BYD takes pride of place on the front of both the home and away playing jerseys, as well as relevant club apparel.
BYD has continued to expand into the Australian market with its range of electric passenger and commercial vehicles, including bus models, with the tagline ‘a new energy’ reflecting the company’s commitment to a cleaner future while also aligning with the new era the Roosters are stepping into.

“We are excited to embark on this journey with BYD as our new major partner,” Sydney Roosters Chairman Nick Politis AM says.
“’A new energy’ captures the Roosters’ dynamic spirit and aligns with BYD’s vision for a sustainable future. This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to innovation and excellence, and we look forward to building on that together over the next five years.”
BYD Australia and New Zealand general manager Wing You says the sponsorship is “more than just a logo on a jersey”.
“It’s a true alignment of shared values, vision and a commitment to creating a better future,” You says.
“Both BYD and Sydney Roosters are iconic brands in their respective fields – one representing the forefront of sustainable mobility and the other a proud symbol of excellence in Australian rugby league.”
Recently, BYD has marked important milestone with the launch of its SHARK 6 Ute and its B70 bus, with the partnership allowing Sydney Roosters members and fans to engage with BYD’s cutting-edge electric vehicles, including through exclusive offers tailored for members.
