At its massive Brussels show, Busworld has announced the winners of its catalogue of vehicle and digital award winners.
The ceremony began early on in Busworld with the 2023 vehicle awards for European buses and coaches.
The big prize in the grand award bus went to Mercedes-Benz for its eCitaro model, with Setra’s S 516 HDH taking home the grand award on the coach side.
When it came to Busworld’s well-known labels of excellence in the bus side, the eCitaro won again on comfort, while VDL Bus & Coach’s Citea New Generation was recognised in the design field, Ebusco’s 3.0 12m model won in ecology and Anadolu Isuzu’s Citivolt 12m was recognised in the safety category.
On the coach side, Setra’s S 516 HDH was a winner again in comfort alongside the Van Hool T15 Astron, while Yutong’s T15 E won the design and ecology sectors and the S 516 HDH also won in safety.
The inaugural digital awards were also held in Brussels, with the first category being the digital on board comfort sector.
MAN Truck & Bus took this award home for its new digital cockpit and MAN SmartSelect for model year 2024, while IVECO Bus won the digital operational excellence gong for its ON Heavy Buses digital services.
The digitally enhanced driving category went to Karsan for its autonomous e-ATAK software, while ChargePoint won the e-mobility management sector for its battery health package.
