Passengers on the Central Coast can rest assured their bus services will be ‘business as usual’ as experienced Australian bus operator Busways begins its new contract on July 28.
Following the same timetable that was recently introduced on July 8, Busways will continue to operate over 160 buses from the Gosford and Wyong bus depots, serving 4.5 million passengers on nearly 400,000 bus trips annually.
Since being awarded the Outer Metropolitan Bus Services Contract 6 (OMBSC6) by the NSW government, Busways in collaboration with Transport for NSW has meticulously executed a transition project to ensure uninterrupted service quality.
Busways managing director Byron Rowe says Busways has a proven track record in delivering high standards of customer experience, safety, and service innovation to the Central Coast community for over 30 years since starting on the Central Coast in the 1990s.
“We are proudly Australian owned and our commitment is to deliver reliable bus passenger services to the Central Coast community over the next seven years,” Rowe says.
“We will focus on investing in the region, improving customer experience, introducing efficiencies, adopting new technologies and appropriately growing services alongside population growth.”
Busways was awarded the new contract following a competitive open tender process in 2023.
