Deliveries maintain triple figures in May

May was quieter than the preceding months – but not by much, exclusive ABC magazine data reveals.

May produced the lowest total of deliveries in 2019 so far, but the figure of 103 still makes it more than a century each month thus far – a solid run, indeed.

Volvo roared back to the top of the manufacturers’ tally, notching up 45 deliveries, almost double the next competitor in Scania. Mercedes-Benz was the only other to reach double figures, with the rest of the field posting six or less.

Volgren’s gap at the top of the body builders’ chart was even bigger, with its 42 deliveries more than tripling Bustech’s 13. Custom Group also reached double figures, while 10 more builders fought it out for the rest of the market.

For the air-conditioners, Thermo King recorded 47 deliveries, the third time consecutively it has reached this figure. Spheros took second spot with 18 recorded deliveries, one of its best tallies for the year. Hispacol followed on 13, with six more makers involved this month.

Victoria again proved to be the busiest of the states, occupying 39 per cent of the market. Queensland was on 26 per cent while NSW continued down to 18 per cent.
