Bus operators showcase Sydney Mardi Gras buses

Transit Systems and ComfortDelGro Corporation have unveiled pink buses set to brighten this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras Festival

Operators Transit Systems and ComfortDelGro Corporation (CDC) have launched colourful buses ahead of this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras parade.

In partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), Transit Systems unveiled two pink-wrapped buses that will be on display along Inner West and Eastern Suburbs routes.

“The Sydney Mardi Gras is a celebration of diversity and inclusion, and I am thrilled to see that our buses will be part of the festivities,” NSW transport minister Jo Haylen says.

Transit’s two buses will then form part of TfNSW’s Mardi Gras Parade float, with the parade to take place on March 2 along Oxford and Flinders Streets and Anzac Parade.

Transit Systems CEO Michael McGee says its support for Mardi Gras reflects on its commitment to celebrate diversity and promote a positive culture within its organisation.

“We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where individuals feel comfortable expressing their authentic selves,” McGee says.

“At Transit Systems, we envision a future where everyone is celebrated for their unique identities.”

In a post on its LinkedIn page, CDC NSW says its ‘Ride with Pride’ bus is a vibrant and inclusive initiative aimed at celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion.

CDC NSW CEO David Mead says in the post he is thrilled to introduce the bus to Sydney for the second year running.

“At CDC NSW we are very focused on ensuring that our values, actions, initiatives and programs reflect the communities in which we operate,” Mead says.

“Our buses are such a visible part of the community that they provide us a very visible opportunity to enforce the important message of respect, understanding and acceptance.”

CDC says the bus will serve routes throughout Sydney and the Hunter Valley and will welcome passengers into an environment they can travel with pride in.
