Police in Sydney’s west are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who attacked a bus driver at Seven Hills.

Parramatta Police officers are investigating the incident, which occurred on a bus just after 5am on Friday (23 October).

A 64-year-old man was driving the bus along the T-Way, near the intersection of Powers Rd, when he observed a cyclist up ahead.

The driver sounded his horn and moved around the rider.

At the next set of traffic lights, the cyclist allegedly banged on the bus window and broke the driver’s mirror.

When the bus stopped the rider got on and allegedly assaulted the driver before leaving the scene.

The male cyclist has been described as being of white/European appearance, aged in his 30s and about 178cm tall. He was wearing a blue helmet and bike clothing at the time of the incident.

The driver finished his route and then reported the matter to police from Parramatta Local Area Command.

Investigators have seized closed-circuit television footage.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Parramatta Police Station on (02) 96330799 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
