The Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) has welcomed the BCA’s latest CEO
The Bus and Coach Association of New Zealand (BCA) has recently announced the appointment of its latest CEO.
Following interim CEO Barry Kidd, who finished up last week, is Delaney Myers.
Myers has recently served as the public transport manager at Waka Kotahi and is well-acquainted with the NZ industry through her extensive experience.
This includes roles related to school transport at the ministry of education, with Myers also being a delegate of the BIC National Summit in March to learn about the Australian industry.
Myers has expressed her enthusiasm for joining the BCA during a time of significant change in the industry and acknowledged the challenges ahead, emphasising the importance of a strong and united industry for the future success of bus operators.
She says she looks forward to contributing to the industry’s growth and development as part of the BCA.
BCA has recently undergone organisational changes, including the appointment of an independent Chair and the election of a new business board, replacing the representative Council, President, and Vice President.
This streamlined and focused board structure aims to enhance BCA’s responsiveness to members’ concerns and enable robust advocacy on their behalf. The goal is to foster a more efficient and sustainable passenger transport industry in New Zealand.
Myers officially assumed her role as chief executive of the BCA on July 3.
