BLK Auto managing director announces resignation

After securing major deals with other subsidiary businesses to BLK Auto, the managing director will step down to focus on this growth

Australian bus and coach distributor BLK Auto has announced that managing director Jason Pecotic has announced his resignation as of the end of March 31 this year.

Pecotic partnered with BLK Chairman Peter Aldridge just over two years ago to run BLK.

Aldridge says the mutual decision for Pecotic to resign allows him to focus his efforts as CEO of emerging vehicle company JAC Auto and president of zero-emissions bus and coach company HDrive, with both companies being separate legal entities from BLK Auto.

Pecotic was in China last week to attend the handover ceremony for the world’s first hydrogen fuel-cell heavy-duty truck to be exported from Wisdom Motors to Australia, with the truck being purchased from HDrive by Pure Hydrogen and PepsiCo in Australia.

Pecotic has also helped JAC Auto sign its first Australian dealers to launch the range of JAC electric trucks from April.

After cementing these bilateral automotive agreements in the new energy sector, Pecotic says he made the decision to step down as BLK Auto’s managing director.

Aldridge will remain as major shareholder of BLK, while general manager of BLK Sean Smith will be supported by operations manager and financial controller Kylie Bellamy and national sales and contracts manager David Jiear in running the day-to-day business in Australia and New Zealand.

Aldridge says BLK is excited about its future plans and product-line up that is set to be unveiled over the next few months.

BLK says as a proud majority Indigenous-owned business, BLK has a great heritage of supporting Australia and New Zealand bus operators with its traditional diesel bus and coach range as well as its new electric and fuel-cell vehicles.

“BLK imports a range of completely built-up buses and coaches and also work with European chassis manufacturers in placing our body on their chassis,” Aldridge says.

“I would like to wish Jason success with his new focus and I couldn’t be happier with the current team to lead BLK Auto forward.”
