Cyclists in Mildura have a new reason to celebrate, with main road bus services now fitted with bike racks, making it easier than ever to combine bike riding with public transport.
The installation of bike racks across 14 CDC bus routes in Mildura offers a practical and sustainable transport option for locals and visitors alike.
Whether commuting to work, heading out for leisure, or tackling a long-distance ride, cyclists can now enjoy greater flexibility and reduce their reliance on cars.

CDC routes with bike racks in Mildura include: 100, 200, 211, 250, 300, 311, 312, 400, 401, 500, 501, 600, 601 and 602.
Each rack, located at the front of the bus, can hold two bikes and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The racks are simple to use, safe, and supported by trained drivers ready to assist passengers with loading and unloading.
To load a bike onto the rack, cyclists must hail the bus and request permission from the driver to load. They then must squeeze the latch handle to fold down the rack, place the bike on the rack and push it fully forward then raise the securing arm over the front wheel to lock it in place.
To unloading the bike, release the securing arm and lift the bike off the rack toward the kerb. If no other bikes remain, fold the rack back up and then signal the driver once all clear.
Mildura’s upgrade is part of a broader push to improve cycling infrastructure across regional Victoria.
Bike racks are now also available on routes 683 and 685 from Chirnside Park to Warburton and Lilydale to Healesville and Cowes to Wonthaggi via Anderson in South Gippsland.
14 local routes in Bendigo and the Bendigo to Heathcote route have bike racks, as well as 6 routes in Castlemaine, 2 in Benalla, 9 in Shepparton, 4 in Wangaratta and 3 in Mooroopna.
With this expansion, more Victorians can cycle to their nearest stop and bring their bike with them as they travel, promoting healthier lifestyles and reducing emissions.
