The Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) has opened the bidding for its 2022 Auction Bus ahead of next week’s BIC National Conference in Brisbane.
The bus, valued at $440,000, will be pulling up at the Moving People National Conference.
The bus comes courtesy of Irizar Asia Pacific’s partnership with Volvo, with the two teaming up to bring this year’s BIC Auction Bus to fruition.
The bus features a Volvo B8R 330hp, two-axle, Euro 5 chassis, with an Irizar i6 3700 12.3-metre body with wheelchair lift fitted on top.
Educator 57 McConnell seats with leather head rest inserts have been placed in the bus, while Camira’s wool moquette fabric adorn them.
Also in the bus is:
- A Hispacold i6 air-conditioning unit
- A United Safety and Sustainability Corporation 6.5L Fogmaker Fire Suppression System Non P-Mark
- Hanover Displays 96×15 white LED destination signs
- Whitlock alloy bullbar
- GME XRS 80 Channel UHF Radio LED 550mm dual-row light bar installed on bullbar
- Novo TS Actia 5 Channel DVR and GPS
- Transcal BIC branded Decals on near side and offside supplier logos on the rear of the bus
- Dhollandia DH CH10 1.03 350kg wheelchair lift
- To be auctioned off by Slattery Auctions
The collaboration in the build between Irizar and Volvo allows BIC to undertake its vital technical program for suppliers and operators with the ultimate goal of supporting the industry and putting more buses on the road.
The classic yet modern combination of the new Volvo B8R and Irizar Body makes for a unique auction for the BIC.
This Volvo and Irizar collaboration combines the strengths of both brands with unique technological advancements and a strong focus on service.
The lucky buyer will have access to Volvo’s largest dealership network in the country and the Irizar mobile workshops available across WA, Victoria, Queensland and NSW. This bus enjoys the reliability and efficiency of Volvo’s standard B8R European driveline and offers Volvo’s 330hp Euro 5 engine with the ZF transmission.
BIC says the bus will be at the Sofitel Brisbane Central from November 16 for inspection.
