What’s your favourite Australian landmark? Is it man-made or natural? In the city centre or the outback? One of the most iconic sights in Australia is Uluru, and the latest winner of ABC’s Best Bus takes us to this incredible rock in the middle of the country.
The Best Bus July winner comes courtesy of Josh Adams from Bayside Coaches with a wonderful shot of a Volvo/Coach Concepts coach in front of Uluru.
“Bayside #40 is the very first Euro 6 Volvo B13 in Australia, bodied by Coach Concepts and performing a wide variety of touring from local city sights to extended tours to Central Australia and Darwin on 15 day tours,” he told ABC.
“This photo was taken at Uluru during a 14-day Melbourne to Darwin tour. It’s not my regular but I do get to drive it every now and then and it’s an absolute dream to drive.”

Josh also sent through photos of the coach in other Central Australia hotspots, including at Alice Springs’ Simpsons Gap and at Nitmiluk Campground in Katherine.
“The coach was built for long distance touring in the NT,” he says.
“I’m lucky enough to be driving it for the next six weeks on tour. The new B13 is a delight to drive.”
It was another popular month for entries, with Josh’s trio being only a snippet of the great photos we received for Best Bus.
Other worthy finalists included Neil Mundie, who submitted an array of superb photos of AAT Kings vehicles, Keith Haggett from Harley’s Bus Lines for his variety of shots and June’s winner Walid Jesly for returning to the mix with another fine capture.
As the winner of Best Bus July, Josh received a free 12-month subscription to ABC magazine, while the winning photo is also being shown off as ABC’s Facebook cover photo for the whole of the month.
