All eyes on Sydney

Exhibitors have sent strong ‘vibes’ towards a successful Australian Bus + Coach show, as the countdown starts

April 12, 2013

With less than six months to go until the Australian Bus and Coach Show 2013, event organiser BusNSW reports strong support for the September show from all sectors of the bus industry.

BusNSW Executive Director Darryl Mellish says the interest in the event shows suppliers are looking forward to profiling their goods and services in the market.

“Industry suppliers are enthusiastic about our move to Sydney Showground as it gives exhibitors and attendees a state-of-the-art facility where all buses and booths can be displayed in the one indoor arena,” Mellish says.

“Well over half the display areas and booths have been reserved and we are only in the early stages of exhibitor registrations.”

Sponsors for this year’s Australian Bus and Coach Show include Transport for NSW, welcomed by Mellish and his team at BusNSW.

“We are very pleased that the NSW Government has recognised the importance of the event and will be actively participating via a large exhibition stand,” Mellish says.

“The NSW Government is projecting bus numbers to grow by 40 percent over the next 25 years and many of the vehicles and services to be displayed will play an important role in meeting this demand.

BusNSW Industry Development Manager Matt Threlkeld has had discussions with a number of exhibitors who have indicated they will be launching new products at the event.

“The dynamic nature of the industry means that suppliers have to be innovative to meet the market,” says Threlkeld.

He says the Sydney show provides an ideal platform for the introduction of new products and services to Australian and International operators.

Whilst entry to the show is free and open to the public, this year for the first time all attendees will be required to preregister online or at the entry point.

“We will be introducing new technology to track attendance and allow exhibitors to record visitor details for follow up communications,” Threlkeld says.

“The show provides a real opportunity for suppliers to make contact with the proprietors of bus and coach operations, as well as fleet buyers from the mining, school and community transport sectors.”

BusNSW will keep exhibitors, operators and industry participants informed via the official show website leading up to the event.

There is limited exhibition space still available and companies interested in exhibiting should contact BusNSW on 02 8839 9500 or for further information.

The show, to be held at the new Sydney Showground venue, will take place on September 25-26 2013.
