Action’s nightrider returns

Canberra's Action buses will re-run late night, early morning Nightrider services across coming weekends

December 13 2012

The ACT Government’s Nightrider service will this year again be operated by Action
buses and will operate on 14-15 December, 21-22 December and 31 December 2012.

The Nightrider routes will service suburbs in Belconnen, Gungahlin, Inner-North, Inner-South, Woden and Tuggeranong dropping passengers at the bus stop nearest to their home.

Each bus will have CCTV facilities and ACTION supervisors will be within the City Bus Station to assist with marshalling.

Fares will again be $5 to ensure the service
is affordable, according to the ACT Government website.

Following feedback received by the ACT Government in 2011, the departure times are being brought forward this year.

The first bus will now depart from 12.30 am rather than 1 am. This will help attract a new segment of the market to the service such as movie goers.

Departing from Platform 7 at the Canberra City Bus Station, eight Nightrider routes will leave every 90 minutes between 12.30 am and 4.15 am with extra services to operate on New Year’s Eve.

When: 14-15, 21-22 and 31 December 2012

Where: Platform 7 to eight different suburb routes

Cost: $5 cash only
