Australasian Bus & Coach (ABC) pays its respects to Andrew Stewart, who sadly passed away in late February this year.
Glasshouse Country & Maleny News editor Mitch Gaynor paid tribute to Stewart in early March following a vehicle accident at his Sandy Creek farm.
As a publisher and journalist, Stewart was the founding editor of the bus industry publication when it was first published on September 15, 1988 under the banner of small independent Brisbane-based newspaper and magazine company Publishing Services Australia (PSA).

Alongside other transport industry titles like OwnerDriver and Australasian Transport News (ATN), ABC became a respected industry publication and has now been a mainstay of the local bus and coach sector for nearly 40 years.
Spanning more than 450 editions, Stewart said at the time the first issue consisted of 64 pages, with the growth never stopping.
“The first issue was bigger than we expected but basically every issue was bigger in the number of pages and the circulation grew and subscriptions grew,” he said.
“ABC, from issue one, was a great magazine and there was never a doubt.”
The ABC team and wider bus and coach industry pays tribute to Andrew Stewart and his integral role in growing the publication into what it is today. Rest in peace.
