ABC magazine takes a look back at the year that was with a 12-part online special

Like fine wine, some things just get better with time.

And while the bus industry can surely appreciate a fine wine (or two), there have been times throughout there year when it was important to get down to business.

It was a year of achievements for industry and now it’s time to take a look back at the year of 2015.

Celebrating 60 years

Metro Tasmania staff celebrated a 60-year history of operations in the state in March.

The day was marked with a display of vintage buses and memorabilia and celebrations at the depot.

The public also got on board with the milestone by using social media to say their thanks to the operator.

Operators at ease

The Queensland Elections bought about a major win for operator with the announcement of Jackie Trad as minister for transport.

Queensland Bus Industry Council (QBIC) executive director David Tape welcomed the news, saying industry has enjoyed a close relationship with Trad during her time as opposition transport spokesperson and hoped this relationship would continue.
