Members of the Bus Industry Confederation (BIC) will be eligible to participate in the BIC Fuel Card Scheme as of September 1.
Developed in conjunction with BP Australia, the scheme is designed specifically for members who do not have bulk fuel capacities at their depots or those who use fuel cards in their operations.
Members who have smaller fleets will be able to take advantage of the scheme by purchasing their fuel at any BP retail site.
The scheme is not limited to any size fleet. Larger operators who run a number of company cars using unleaded fuel can also join the scheme.
The BIC Fuel Card Scheme offers:
- The lower of the negotiated card price or the pump price (LPG is at negotiated card price)
- No administration or transaction costs
- Credit at all BP service stations controlled through itemised statements per card
- Security through PIN numbers or signature
- Monthly reports that show all your vehicle purchases for the month on a card by card basis
- Detailed reports showing information such as product and volume purchased, price per litre, total price and year to date information
- For GST purposes the fleet control report consolidates all transactions into a single monthly tax invoice
- Convenient reporting saves you time when preparing tax returns
- One easy monthly payment via direct debit on the 14th of each month.
Executive Director of the BIC, Michael Apps, believes the alliance with BP Australia is a positive step.
"Just as importantly, member's participation in the BIC Fuel Card Scheme will see a financial return to BIC, whilst members get the best fuel deal for their business."
"This not only helps the bottom line of members but also reduces or minimises the need for BIC to increase future membership subscriptions," he says.
By using the BIC fuel card members will receive a BP Plus card for each nominated vehicle in the fleet.
Each card will be imprinted with the BIC, the name of the member's company and either vehicle registration number or nominated driver name.
The imprint will immediately identify the user as a member of the BIC fuel scheme and the benefits will be applied to all of their purchases.
