The Queensland Bus Industry Council has appointed a former cane industry official as its new executive director. Former manager of the Innisfail office of farmer representative group Canegrowers, Rob Bebrough, is believed to have been appointed the head of the state's peak bus group. He will replace longserving chief Lorraine Douglas-Smith, who has worked for the Council for the past 20 years. Bebrough was seconded to Canegrowers head office in Brisbane approximately 12 months ago, but left recently. The QBIC has interviewed various candidates for the position, with Bebrough considered an outside chance by industry pundits at the start of the process.
