A partnership between Nokia and the Seven network will allow passengers aboard 34 corporate coaches to watch the Olympic Games live in a few weeks. The trial technology will see the coaches fitted with Nokia Mediamaster terminals which will receive a digital broadcast. The Nokia Mediamaster terminals highlight one of the great benefits of digital TV, and the one highly relevant to the bus and coach industry - mobility. "As part of our planning for the introduction of digital television early next year, we are conducting a number of test transmissions, including the conversion of our television coverage of the Olympic Games to digital transmission standards," Roger Barrett, Seven's director of engineering and broadcast technologies, says. The Nokia Mediamaster is a digital terrestrial receiver based on the digital video broadcasting (DVB) standard. It provides plug and play installation with automatic channel set-up for free-to-air channels.
