Nowra based regional coachline Premier Motor Service has just purchased a large number of luxury coaches from leading coachbuilder Scania. The company is also negotiating with Scania for the purchase of another 53 vehicles, in addition to the earlier order. "This is the first step in expanding to national status," Premier's managing director John King announced today. With the future of Greyhound Pioneer being uncertain, the planned expansion could result in Premier Motor Service being Australia's only national coachline. "We can see a gap in the market at the moment and should take advantage of this opportunity to extend our service Australia-wide," King says. Premier currently operates between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, offering daily services up and down Australia's east coast.
