Senior state government planning and infrastructure expert John Larcombe will provide powerful new insights into the state's forecast growth and the implications for business at the 2005
Queensland 400 Business Summit on July 6 at Brisbane's Powerhouse.
Reflecting the Summit's theme ‘Profiting from Queensland's Powerhouse Economy', the Office of Urban Management's Director, Infrastructure Co-ordination, will reveal where and when the millions of new residents expected in the south-east corner will live and work, and the challenges and opportunities this unprecedented growth presents to business.
Less than a week after the release of the final version of the government's regional plan, Larcombe will focus especially on what the phenomena means for business, including the demographic makeup anticipated and its implications for consumer demand and labour supply.
The new opportunities presented by this growth will be a key focus of the presentation, particularly in key areas such as infrastructure and housing.
Along with Larcombe, Queensland business owners and managers will have the rare opportunity to hear powerful insights into the future of business from a powerful line-up of leading strategic thinkers and forecasters, who will explore forecast change in the economy, technology, organisations and the regulatory environment – and explain what it means for business owners and managers.
Following the official unveiling of the 2005

Leading technologist Wayne Bucklar will then predict future technology developments and their impact before experienced CEO Ray Weekes leads an interactive session with finance, HR, marketing and technology experts discussing operational challenges of business growth with delegates.
Following the 2005
